All it was is the .rar command
sudo apt-get install rar
This allowed me to play the music in my download folder and open my virtual machine.
Luckily everything was already to go with the virtual machine, so after I ran this command all I had to do was open it and it worked properly. Now I have installed the drivers onto Windows for the video, and audio.
The virtual machine is making my computer run slower, but that is all a matter of RAM and then it looks like I will have succeeded at a new goal. Until then I am still learning about this OS Ubuntu.
